We are sad to announce that on November 30, 2025, at the age of 97, Alida Cornelia Stuyt of Kanata, Ontario passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband William Stuyt. She is survived by: her children, Gerry (Wendy), Johan (Anne), Fred (Sharon) and Kenny (Karen); her grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler, Amanda, Benjamin, Gabriel, Janeska, Anjaline, Jessica, Lindsay, Kevin, Emily, Michael, Peter, Isabelle, Dominic, Braden, Curtis and Natalia; and her brother Laus Smit.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kelly Funeral Home - Kanata Chapel (580 Eagleson Rd, Kanata, ON K2M1H4). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Church (15 Steeple Hill Crescent, Nepean, ON K2R1G2). A burial will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM. A reception will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.

Donations to Carleton Lodge, there are two ways these can be made: 1. e-transfer to [email protected] and enter the name of the Home as Carleton Lodge and the project as In Memoriam of Alida Stuyt 2. a cheque made out to Carleton Lodge Donors Trust, and mailed to 55 Lodge Road, Nepean, ON K2C 3H1.

“Lieve familie, Hierbij wil ik jullie condoleren met het verlies van jullie moeder en oma. En onze tante Alie. De zus van mijn moeder, een hechte band, de lange telefoongesprekken. De vele brieven die tante Alie schreef, en die mijn moeder bewaarde. De mooie herinnering van twee jaar geleden, dat wij haar opgezocht hebben. Was fijn haar weer te zien. Tante Alie, de tante die jarenlang met grote regelmaat brieven schreef naar Nederland, kwam logeren als ze “over” was en lange telefoongesprekken met mijn moeder had.
