He was predeceased by : his mother Norma Cheryl Shepherd. He is survived by : his father Clifford Stewart Saunders (Anne-Marie); his wife Mary; his sons, Charles and William; his siblings, Cheryl (Johnny) and Mithra (Mary); and his close friend Kevin McEvoy (Chantal). He is also survived by friends, university friends, Ottawa friends, work friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
