He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Marilyn (Nee Burke); his daughters, Christine Allen (Wade Crossley) and Julie Allen (Joe Dias); his grandchildren, Nate, Elaina, Mackenzie, Avelina, Luka and Noah; and his brother Ronald Allen (Ruth).

“Deepest sympathy to Marilyn & family. I was a friend of your dear mother, Aggie, and will be honoured to sing in the choir at the funeral mass at St Patrick's church. I lost my husband Doug in February after 8 long years of Alzheimer's so know the journey well. Our husbands are whole again and truly in a better place. Beverlae Buckland”
