Lloyd Preston Wallis Obituary
With sadness we announce the passing of Lloyd Preston Wallis (78yrs) who passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. Lloyd leaves behind his predeceased wife, Cora Minnie Wallis (nee Dove), formerly of Twillingate, NL., 52 years of marriage, his parents, Sydney George Wallis and May Victoria Wallis (nee Preston) as well as brother, Ralph Wallis. Left to mourn are son, Kenneth Lloyd Wallis (wife Tammy, grandson Adam and granddaughter Amy), daughter, Krista Lynn England (husband Kurt, granddaughter Anna and step grandson Kolton), sister Catherine Kiley (husband Mike) and sister in law Claire Wallis. Also to mourn are many family and friends from various parts of NL and NS.
Lloyd was born in Pictou, NS., raised in New Glasgow and graduated as a mechanical draftsman, joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in (1968-04-16) and was posted to NL for 21 years to Fogo Island, Twillingate, Grand Falls, St. John's, Bay d'Espoir and Port Saunders, then to Nova Scotia where he served in Bridgetown and Yarmouth until retirement (2001-05-31).
An outdoorsy person, handyman, woodworker and motorcyclist, a member of the Blue Knights, Yarmouth County Trail Development Association and the RCMP Veterans Association he will be missed by many family and friends.
