He was predeceased by: his parents, George Shepherd and Mildred Shepherd of Bexley; and his sister Dorothy Walker (Ross). He is survived by: his significant other Valerie Shepherd; his children, Michelle (Chris), Heather (Allen) and Michael (Laura); his grandchildren, Elysha (Matt), Brandon (Sarah), Matt (Joanna), Whitney, Andrew (Hayley), Steven (Jenika), Nick, Tanner (Shelby) and Daniel (Lorelle); his great grandchildren, Forest, River, Atlas, Paisley, Lincoln, Scarlett, Maisie, Harper, Sullivan, Walter, Benjamin and Ruby; his nephews, Peter and Paul Walker; his brother Ron; and his sister-in-law Janice Richman.

A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Faith Tabernacle (6 Albert St, Coboconk, ON K0M1K0). A reception was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Coboconk Lions Club (9 Grandy Rd, Kawartha Lakes, ON K0M1K0).
