He was predeceased by: his wife Doris (Clements); his parents, David McIntyre and Lily McIntyre of Otonabee; his brothers, Jack, Bill and Keith; his brothers-in-law, Ronnie Clements and Jim Newall; and his nephews, Charles McIntyre, Rob McIntyre, John Clements Junior and Lance Newall.

He is survived by: his children, Debbie (Brent West) and Ron (Vicky Rutherford); his grandchildren, Kurt West (Daniel Jaremek), Brandon West (Ella) and Kristin West; his siblings-in-law, Lillian McIntyre, Marilyn McIntyre, John Clements (Joan), Helen Newall and Marie Bolton; and his nieces and nephews, David McIntyre (Sue), Doug McIntyre (Kim), Christine McIntyre (Mike), Scott McIntyre (Gayle), Karen Kemp (Marty), Melanie McIntyre (Teri), Sonya Kemp (Scott), John McIntyre, Calvin Newall (Shannon), Braden Newall (Krista), Jim Newall (Golnar), Tammy Trotter (Mark), Stephanie Elcombe (Greg) and Andrew Bolton.
