John Engstrom Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Engstrom (Kenora, Ontario), who passed away on August 22, 2025 at the age of 94. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Engstrom to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Julius Engstrom and Karin Engstrom (Pearson); his wife Wanda Engstrom (Kirkoski); his son John Karl Engstrom; and his brothers, Wilfred "Webb" Engstrom and Allan "Diddy" Engstrom.
He is survived by: his siblings, Ethel Morgan-Reynard, Helen Ortlieb and James "Jimmy" Engstrom; his children, Donald (Elaine), Ronald and Dale (Cindy); and his grandchildren, Trisha, Ben (Liz), Karl (Randi), Allison (John), Jonathon (Kirsti) and Kyley (Brandon). He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
Cowie and other firefighters organized a used toy donation drive around the holidays, where they would repair the toys and give them to children in need.
