Leatrice Chmeliuk Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leatrice Chmeliuk (Kenora, Ontario), who passed away on March 23, 2026 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Harry; her parents, Gordon Comber and Elizabeth Amos; her stepfather Doug Amos; her parents-in-law, Katerina and John Chmeliuk; her siblings, Glynda Lax and Ralph Conner; her siblings-in-law, Alexander Derewianko, Wayne Lax, Louis Bourcier, Mary Derewianko and Stella Hillis; and her grandson James Chmeliuk.

She is survived by: her children, Allan Chmeliuk, Kathy Ratuski (Murray), Ken Chmeliuk and Bill Chmeliuk (Denise); her grandchildren, Matthew Ratuski (Elysia), Sheldon Ratuski (Ashley), Brittany, Luke, Kate and John Chmeliuk; her great grandchildren, Rae, Indessa, Hunter, Cruz, Jett and Knox Ratuski; and her siblings, Eunice Bourcier and Patrick Comber (Glynda). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
