He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Downey (Zimmer) and Martin Downey; his parents-in-law, Rene and Margaret Vanroboys; and his siblings-in-law, Julianna Casier (Marcel), Harry Vanroboys (Mary), Oscar Vanroboys and Norman Vanroboys (Helen).
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Downey (Vanroboys); his son Mitchell (Karen); his grandchildren, Madison and Meghan; and his sister-in-law Mary Louise Vanroboys.
In lieu of flowers donations to Chatham-Kent Hospice, P.A.W.R., the Canadian Cancer Society or Charity of One's Choice would be appreciated by the family.
