She was predeceased by: her husband Frank Barkwell; her parents, Myrtle Smith (Begley) and Oliver Smith; and her sister Marjorie Brook (Stewart). She is survived by: her brother Wes Smith (Margaret) of Ripley; and her sibling's children, John Brooks (Rosalind) of Owen Sound, Linda Beishuizen (Ben) of Ripley, Susan Doupe (Fred) of Kincardine, Rick Smith (Linda) of Ripley, Mary-Margaret Smith (Holly) of Barrie and Barb Murray (Don) of Kinloss Township.
