He is survived by: his children, John Bates (Susan) and Sue Bates (Barry); his wife Joyce Aikman; his stepchildren, Peter Bauder (Dom), Scott Aikman (Donna) and Tonya Tallen; and his stepgrandchildren, Hannah, Curtis, Grace and Carly.
