He was predeceased by: his brother James; and his parents, James "Jay" and Muriel. He is survived by: his wife Donna; his children, Katrina Pedersen (Todd) and Shelly McNaughton (Troy); his grandchildren, Madison, Cody, Ella, Alia and Ava; his sister Marylin Kovacs (Simon); and his siblings-in-law, Gary Hillier (Elizabeth) and Carolyn Hillier-Massey (Howard). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends.
