He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Ley and Shirley Ley; his sister Evelyn Ley; his father-in-law Murray Black; his siblings, Gordon Ley and Janet Ley; his parents-in-law, Annetta and Jerry Pattenden; and his siblings-in-law, Angie Black (Barry) and Bryan Black (Amanda).

He is survived by: his wife Ann; his children, Murray (Jessica), Melissa (Dan) and Mackenzie (Bethany); his grandchildren, Emerson and Alice; and his family Amherstview Jets. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
