She was predeceased by: her husband Don Smeaton; her brothers, Chuck and Cliff Irv; and her sisters-in-law, Marilyn, Alice and Joyce.

She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Foster (late Steve) and Laura Austin (Bob); her grandchildren, Krista Foster (Dan), Laurel Forbes (Dave) and Kyle Austin (Megan); her stepgrandchildren, Anna and Jessie; and her great grandchildren, Noah, Caiden, Lincoln, Hudson, Logan, Emma and Clara.
