Fred Sonneveld Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred Sonneveld (Kingston, Ontario), who passed away on February 22, 2026, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius and Aafje; his siblings, Joe (Ria), Clazien (Clifford), Case (Claudia) and Bill (Connie); and his in-laws, Carl (Sophia), Nancy (Jim), John (Kathy), Lawrence (Annette) and Geraldine (Charlie).

He is survived by: his wife Cathy; his children, Jeff (Kim), Tammy (Peter), Richard (Michelle) and Robert (Jill); his grandchildren, Faith, Seth, Ty, Corey, Jessica, Alyssa, Cole, Paige and Hailee; and his siblings, Riet (late Albert), Leen (late Marie), Orrie (Debbie), Fia (late Frank) and Willa (Dave). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 25th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston, ON K7M7H3). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, February 26th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Sandhill Cemetery (4448 Battersea Rd, Battersea, ON K0H1H0).
