He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Steven Pauls, Patty Pauls (Kevin Hansen), Cindy Koopman (late Jay) and Tampa; his grandchildren, George Pauls, Allison Pauls, Dakota Koopman and Jacob Hansen; his great grandchild Aubrey; his siblings, Beatrice Brown (Alex), Reta McCormick (Camden East), Linda Baker, Jim (Camden East), Howard (Verona) and Vera Pauls; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Gordon, Lynn Gordon (late Mary), Mary Ellen Wales (David) and David Gordon (Dawn).
