We announce the death of Gerard Powers (Kingston, Ontario), who passed away on October 23, 2026, at the age of 80. Gerard will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Gerard will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Gerard’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: wife: Rita (Nolan); children: Derrick (Darlene) and Kevin (Cher); grandchildren: Nolan (Sarah McCallum), Nelson (Carly Corrigan), Natalie and Kyle; great-grandchild: Thomas Powers; parents: Daniel and Alice Powers; siblings: Noreen Wales (Jim), Patrick (Margie) and Julie Demoe (Jerry); in-laws: John and Agnes Nolan, Joan Nolan, Gerald and Madelon Nolan, Joe and Teddyanne Nolan, Maureen and Patrick Way, Jean and Bob Vrooman; nieces and nephews: Alice, Ed and Mary Clare; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wartman Funeral Home "napanee Chapel" (448 Camden Rd, Napanee, ON K7R1G1). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (179 West St, Napanee, ON K7R2P6). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Annunciation Cemetery (1004 Mary Moore Rd, South Frontenac, ON K0K1Z0). A reception will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Blessed Virgin Mary Church (669 Church Rd, Stone Mills, ON K0K1Z0).
Memorial donations can be made to Lennox & Addington County General Hospital (Chemo), or St.Patrick's Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
