He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Carkner and Henrietta Carkner; his siblings, Keith (late Mabel), Martha (late Bert) and Allen; and his siblings-in-law, Lois (late Stan), Shirley (late Bill) and Bert (Sue).

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his children, Kevin, Wendy (Ralph), Greg (Debbie) and Derek; his grandchildren, Jessica, Callie (Shane), Mitchell, Nicole, Kaelan and Colleen; his sister Marion (late Don); and his sister-in-law Dorothy. He is also survived by his many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
