She was predeceased by: her sister Evelyn Jewell of St. Catharines. She is survived by: her spouse Sidney DeVries; her children, Sandra Johnson (Geoff) of Roblin and Adam (Isabelle) of Gatineau; her grandchildren, Hailey (Scott), Samuel and William; and her sister Betty Ann Bustard (Arden) of Brockville.

Friends desiring may contribute to the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital Foundation or the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation in memory of Helen.

“Sid, I was so sorry to hear of Helen's passing. Funny thing...just 2 weeks ago I was speaking to some Wolfe Island people who asked if I knew you. It brought back some Devries memories. I think my first platoon Christmas dinner was at the General Wolfe with you and Helen and the gang. Helen was such a classy lady. I saw she wrote a book while fighting cancer. That really is turning lemons into lemonade. Good for Her. All the very Best from Flynns.”
