He was predeceased by: his siblings, Diane of Broken Arrow, OK and Gerry (Moira) of Port Renfrew, BC; and his nephews, Eric, Gordon, Michael and Richard (Carrie) of Pembroke.

He is survived by: his wife Astrid; his sons, Timothy (Kelly) and Christopher (Fran); his granddaughters, Ariel and Madison; his great grandchild River; his extended family, Mitch Leger (Deanna) and Renee Tulk (Brandon); his sister-in-law Renate (late Graeme); his nephews, Ian (Meghan), Lauren and Peter (Pasquale); his sister-in-law Betty (late Dieter); and his nephew Christian (Ann). He is also survived by his family and supporting his two boys.
