He was predeceased by: his parents, George Shannon and Leonora Shannon of Newton; and his siblings, George, Gerald, Patricia McNally and Leonora Williams.
He is survived by: his wife Marcia Shannon; his children, John Jr. (Andrée-Cybèle Bilinski), Elizabeth (R. Bruce McVittie) and Patrick (Hedy Ginzberg); his grandchildren, Christopher (Ananda), Leanora, Rachel, Kathleen, Arielle and Lyla; his great grandchildren, Bennit and Thomas; and his brother Martin. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Kingston Yacht Club (1 Maitland St, Kingston, ON K7L2V3).
