He was predeceased by: his sisters, Mary Gray, Tessie Longbottom, Connie Zammit and Bernadette Cassar; and his parents, Lewis Cassar and Mary Cassar.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his daughter Annie; his siblings, Joan Hicks, Charlie Cassar, Grace O'Donnell, Leo Cassar and Kim Nolet; his great-nephew Derek; and his brother-in-law George Fraser.
Joe's family is grateful for all the support and kindness received from Health Care and Home Care providers, neighbours, family, and friends during Joe's illness in spite of the pandemic.
