He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Cornelia (Corry); his daughters, Esther (Adam Young) and Deborah (Jefferson Thompson); his grandchildren, Nathanael, Anna Young, Cooper and Alexandra Thompson; his parents, Gerhard Niedergesaess and Hanna Niedergesaess; his siblings, Heidi, Doris (late Karl), Ruth (Rainer), Ernst (Margaret), Edith (Edgar) and Thomas (Sabine); and his siblings-in-law, Wieske, Sjoerd Smallegange (late Marie), Wiepke Jonker (late Fred), Loura Guild (Grant), Jannie Grendel (late Sjoerd), Jan Smallegange (Lori), Marie (late Barend), Susan Grendel (Feike) and Adrie Leyenaar (Stuart). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
