He was predeceased by: his parents, David Patten and Gertrude Patten; and his stepmother Doreen Patten. He is survived by: his children, Tammy Patten of Oshawa, Melissa Szeri (Balazs) of Ottawa and Lindsay Robinson (Les) of Napanee; his grandchildren, Mila, Ethan, Devin and Dawson; his friend Wendy Benn-Abrams (Mark) of Amherstview; and his siblings, Pam Robb (late Bill) of Kingston, Kim Vankoughnett (late Jim) of Kingston, Michelle Patten of Kingston and Terry Patten of Kingston. He is also survived by his nieces, nephew, many other relatives and friends.
