He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Laporte and Nancy Laporte; his brother Douglas Laporte Jr.; his grandparents, Douglas, Lena Laporte, Hazel and Frederick Galbraith; his aunts and uncles, Dick Galbraith, Bob, Brenda Morris and Stella Laporte; and his cousin Sherry Morris-Wyatt "SheShe".
He is survived by: his nephew Daniel Laporte (Joan); his great-nephew Connor; his aunts and uncles, Liz Sargent (Dave), Gerard, Lorraine Laporte, Albert and Rita Laporte; and his cousins, Bonnie Major, Heather Dixon, Lenny Galbraith, Tammy Largy, Kevin Laporte, Kristen Laporte, Paul Laporte, Susan Moore, Anne Gilmour and Lifelong.
