She was predeceased by: her parents, John McVity and Marjory McVity (Hill) of Toronto; her husband Douglas "Skip" James Knapp; and her son Donald. She is survived by: her children, Susan (Tom), Brian (Terri), Kerry (René) and Peter (Kim); her grandchildren, Ashley (Jeremie), Owen and Emma; her great grandchildren, Ayva and Isla; and also Skip.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston, ON K7M7H3). A reception will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the James Reid Funeral Home Reception Centre (1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston, ON K7M7H3).

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michal may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
