It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Reta Ethel (Barkley) Chalmers (Kingston, Ontario), who passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Jack Chalmers; and her siblings, Ellen Carr, Jean MacKenzie and Lorne Barkley. She is survived by: her children, Beverley of Calgary and Paul (Josephine) of Toronto.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Robert J. Reid & Sons Funeral Home (309 Johnson St, Kingston, ON K7L1Y6). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the St. Luke's Anglican Church (236 Nelson St, Kingston, ON K7K4M7). A committal service was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 3:45 PM at the Prayers Riverside Cemetery (334 Church St, Selby, ON K0K2Z0).
As an expression of sympathy, donations to St. Luke's Church or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
