He was predeceased by: his parents, Alec Sutherland and Margaret Sutherland; and his siblings, Bob, Winnie and Myrtle.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl; his daughters, Kimberly Sutherland Mills and Karen Amor; his sons-in-law, Andrew Mills and Paul Amor; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Alec Mills, Ben and Lindsay Amor. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
