He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Linda; his children, Chris (Janis) of Harrowsmith, Amanda (Bryan) of Selby and Ryan (Nikki) of Lonsdale; his grandchildren, Nora, Aavin, Kaelyn, Camryn and Bennett; and his siblings, Wayne of Napanee and Charlene VanAlstine (Ron) of Petawawa.

Donations in Walter's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be welcomed by his family.
