He was predeceased by: his wife Lois; his parents, William Hackett and Ada Hackett; and his siblings, Douglas, Stuart, Herbie, Laura and Ken.

He is survived by: his children, Eleanor MacCallum, Ron (Karen Craig), Brian and Kimberly; his grandchildren, Mairead MacCallum, Brian Jr. (Julie Tolles), Brittany (David Marchand) and Emily (Matt Lajeunesse); and his great grandchild Evie.
