He was predeceased by: his wife Sharon Carey; his grandson Isaac Murney; his son-in-law Bill Murney; and his brothers, Donald Carey, Arthur (Betty Carey) and Everett Carey.
He is survived by: his children, Shannon Carey, Trevis Carey and Michael (Deborah Carey); his grandchildren, Elyjah, Natasha, Aaron (Gail Aitchson), Jacob Murney, Melissa (Erik Bliss) and Karl (Nikki Carey); his great grandchildren, Spencer, Felix Aitchson, Lilian, Cameron, Naomi Murney-Stephen, Adalyn and Alex Bliss; his parents, Charles Carey and Hazel Carey; his sister-in-law Bonnie Carey; his brother Ivan (Linda Carey); his sister-in-law Phyllis Carey; his sister Karen (Richard Anderson); and his uncle Keith.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 87 (1 Summerhayes Ave, Kirkland Lake, ON P2N3H7).
