She was predeceased by: her boyfriend Ed Parrington; her parents, Gordon Smith and Vivian Smith; her children, David Leclair, Carol Lambert and Danny Leclair; and her brothers, Robert Smith and Jack Smith.

She is survived by: her daughter Sandra Leclerc (Pat); her grandchildren, Leanne, Robert, Trina, Jodi, Braiden, Kim, Trisha, Nicky, Joan, DeAnna, Jason and Stacey; her boyfriend's daughters, Brenda, Karen and Jane; and her friends, Bette Leonard and Irma Doupe. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan's name to the Blanche River Health Palliative Care Unit in Kirkland Lake.
