He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Mirt and Rozalija Mirt (Omrzel); his brother Pepi Mirt (Fanika); and his nephew Aleksander. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; his son David; his siblings, Martin Mirt (Zinka), Vida Kerin (late Franc), Fanika Melavc (late Jose) and Vika Umek (Toni); his mother-in-law Sabina Sendlak; his sister-in-law Wiesia; and his nieces and nephews, Monika (Malgosia) of Poland, Jana (Heidi), Ginette of France, Fanika (Karmen), Martin of Waterloo, Joze, Jozi and Bostjan.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation - Freeport Palliative Care or Grand River Hospital Foundation - Cancer Research would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
