He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerhard and Erika; and his son Bernie Jr.. He is survived by: his significant other Cindy; his brothers, David (Lori) and Andrew (Steve); his daughters, Francine (Tyler), Ashley (Dave) and Caitlin (Jeff); his grandchildren, Leo, Jack, Summer, Sylvie, Lincoln, Brynn and Jayce; his nephew Matthew (Sara); his niece Lauren (Jordan); his great-nephew Keegan; and his cousin Steffi (Gernot).
