He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Jonas and Reta Schulte; his stepfather David Schulte; and his siblings-in-law, Loretta Jonas, Ursula Schulte and Jack Thomas.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Jonas; his daughters, Amy Jonas and Alisa Jonas; his grandchildren, Tyler (Hannah), Katie (Sam), Emma, Ainslee, Ellie, Marley and Koah; his brother Bruce Jonas; his stepsiblings, Janet Gimbel (Tom) and Robert Schulte; and his siblings-in-law, Jim (Joan), Wayne (Karen), Donna, Brian (Janet) and Barb. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and friends.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Food Bank of Waterloo Region would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
