He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Dorrance of Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service; and his great grandchild Corinne Kirkey. He is survived by: his close friend Dagmara Trinitis Ziedins; his children, Don Jr. (Diane Vigneault), Joanne (Chris Anderson), Bob, Keith (Diane Charpentier) and Jennifer (Edmond Chan); his grandchildren, Joshua, Jesse, Anne-Michelle, Devon, Krystin, Justin, Drew, Rebecca, Frédérique, Félix and Evan; and his great grandchildren, Pascal, Alder, Margot, Adélie, Everett, Preston, Caelan and Parker.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home Ltd. (507 Frederick St, Kitchener, ON N2B2A5). He did not fully retire until he was in his 80s but kept busy woodworking until the pandemic slowed him down.
