It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doug Piitz (Kitchener, Ontario), who passed away on November 1, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ron, Floyd (Betty), Joyce Robillard and Marjorie Macaskill; his in-laws, Sister Mary Rosella and John Dowling (Helen); and his granddaughter Danielle.
He is survived by: his wife Rosella (Dowling); his children, Debbie Mussar (Keith), Brenda Dube (Ray), Brian Piitz (Shelly Davis) and Barb Pearce; his grandchildren, Alexandra, Ryan (Chantelle), Kyle (Adrianna), Sarah (Reid), Matt Katie (Sydney), Brooke, Josh (Samantha) and Alyssa; his stepgrandsons, Andrew (Kate), Philip (Stephanie) and Stephan (Emily); his great grandchild Vailan; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Adrian, Sascha, Sophie and Arlo; his siblings, Anita Lavigne, Rick Putz (Myra) and Mike Putz (Gail); and his sisters-in-law, Pauline Von Niessen and Patricia Dowling. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:15 PM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home Ltd. (507 Frederick St, Kitchener, ON N2B2A5). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of your choice or to the St. Francis Church Parish (https://stfranciskw.ca) would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home). Doug loved to donate to many causes; any donation would bring him joy.
