He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Witmer and Vinetta Witmer (Shantz); his siblings, Marjorie (Ralph), Robert and Ross (Rosario); and his siblings-in-law, Merle, Allan, Pete and Kathryn.

He is survived by: his wife Marian Elizabeth Witmer (Sherk); his children, Joan (Paul Doehn), James Witmer (Karen) and Bevin Witmer (Crystal); his siblings, Margaret Hoover, Dorothy (Doug Phillips) and Glenn Witmer; and his siblings-in-law, Lois, Alice, Carolyn and Vernon (Leone).

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to Crossroads Christian Communications or Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church through the funeral home.
