He was predeceased by: his parents, Olive Bowman and Gordon Bowman; his in-laws, Margery and Harold Thorman; and his siblings-in-law, Helen Thorman McLean (Stuart McLean) and John Thorman.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his sons, Shawn (Iwona) and Colin (Rachel); his granddaughters, Emma and Sadie; his brother Wayne (Ardith); and his sister-in-law Janice Thorman.
