He is survived by: his sister Patricia Layng; his brother-in-law Jean-Pierre Martin; his nephew Phillip Smith (Melissa Frey); his great-niece Brianna; his great-nephew Aiden Smith; his niece Carly Kivinen (Jorrit); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Josslyn, Daken and Parker Kivinen; his nephew Francois Martin; and his friend Wilfred Marten.
