He was predeceased by : his wife Fern Emslie; his son Michael Emslie; his parents, Charles Emslie and Alice Jonas; his stepfather Walter Jonas; his brothers, Malcolm Emslie (Audrey), Kenneth Emslie and John Emslie; and his siblings-in-law, Jimmy Steppler (Heather) and Joyce Nagel (Ed).
He is survived by : his children, Steve Emslie (Danielle), Jim Emslie (Wonita) and Cindy Goodyear (Bernie); his grandchildren, Alex Emslie, Nick Emslie, Ben Goodyear (Stephanie), Kenny Goodyear (Helvi), James Emslie, Jr. and Reaghanne Emslie; his great grandchildren, Charles and Henry Goodyear; his sisters-in-law, Emily Emslie, Pat Emslie and Betty-Anne Luft (Dave); and his daughter-in-law Jackie.
