He was predeceased by: his father John Hiles Templin; and his parents-in-law, Josina Heuvelmans (van Vugt) and Johannes Heuvelmans (John). He is survived by: his wife Petronella (Nellie); his brothers-in-law, Hendricus van (Harry) and Dan Van Vugt of Halifax; and his nephew Dave van Vugt (Tanya) of Windsor.
