He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Dent and Betty Dent of Belleville; his sister Victoria; and his father-in-law Ed Piwowarek. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Mackenzie (Diana), Michael (Julia Schippke), Elissa (Jason Hewgill) and Tessa Pfisterer (Curtis); his pet Myla; his grandchildren, Luke, Sophia and Tyler; his siblings, David (Cathy), Carol Austin (Tim), Lori McLeod (late Bruce), Paul (Pat), Esther Wyszynski (Matthew) and Peter; his mother-in-law Donna; and his siblings-in-law, Wendy Piwowarek and Graham White.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home Ltd. (507 Frederick St, Kitchener, ON N2B2A5). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the WMB Church - Waterloo Site (245 Lexington Rd, Waterloo, ON N2K2E1). A reception was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
