He was predeceased by: his brother Jozsef; and his parent János. He is survived by: his wife Rozalia (Gulyas); his daughter Ernesztina (Gyorgy Meszaros); his grandchildren, Eleonora (David Lehto) and David Richard; his goddaughter Gabriella Gulyas; his sister-in-law Maria Csonka; and his sister Ilona.
