He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Theodore and Ruth Hilker; his father-in-law Charlie Bruder; and his sister-in-law Linda Reiser. He is survived by: his children, Owen and Mary; his parents, Wayne Hilker and Martha Hilker (Cressman); his aunts and uncles, Greg (Ann Bronson), Dave (Charlotte Dolson), Elizabeth Cressman and Carolyn (Michael Weber); his cousins, Heidi, Hayley, Derek and Jenal; his siblings-in-law, Joanne Pinkerton, Jamie Pinkerton and Paul Reiser; his niece Ashley; his nephew Jake; and his friend Chester.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation-Cancer Centre or Lisaard & Innisfree Hospice would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
