Maria Tomic Obituary
We announce the death of Maria Tomic (Kitchener, Ontario), who passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 86. Maria will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Jon Tomic; her child Marioara; her parents, Panta Stanciu and Sofia Stanciu; and her sister Persa (Gheorghe).
She is survived by: her children, Persida, Juliana (Jon) and Jon; her grandchildren, Lavinel, Jason, Julie and Janet; and her great grandchildren, Victoria, Landon, Sal, Ryan, David and Elizabeth.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre (1001 Ottawa St S, Kitchener, ON N2E2X5). A prayer will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Romanian Orthodox Church (2150 Bleams Rd, Kitchener, ON N2E3Y1). A burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at the Woodland Cemetery (119 Arlington Blvd, Kitchener, ON N2A2G8).
