He was predeceased by: his wife Anna; his brother Joe; and his grandson Rob. He is survived by: his children, Kathy Plourde (Dave) and Dan Potje (Laura); his grandchildren, Nicole (Krzysztof), Mark (Allison) and Dana (Paul); his brother John Potje (Kathleen); his sister-in-law Lee Potje; and his friend Kay Imhof. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
