She was predeceased by: her mother Barbara Cameron; and her siblings, John and Debbie. She is survived by: her child Courtney; her father Aubrey Cameron; and her siblings, Bru, Billy (Judy), Jimmy, Joanne (David), Karen (Henry), Bruce, Wendy, Sheila and Clint (Shannon). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“All the Gill family is so very saddened to hear of Moureen's passing. We were all such a close family when we were all together in Glace Bay. Always loved to meet up with Moureen as she always had an interesting story to tell. My heartfelt condolences to her daughter, who she was so proud of, also Aubrey and all her siblings. She will be remembered as a real trooper who fought such a brave battle. RIP beautiful Moureen, Christmas in Heaven with Jesus and so many family members will be wonderful”

“Courtney, Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I know you don’t know me but I live in the co-op. Unit 36 I don’t ever remember meeting your mom, but I might have if she attended annual meetings. I heard that Moureen was very sick. Losing a mom at anytime is hard (mine passed away in 2003) but in December... I cannot imagine the emotional pain that you and your family are dealing with right now. I will certainly keep you and your family in my prayers. Jacki Egerton”
