He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Joseph Hicknell and Mathilda Nigh; his brothers, Joseph, Francis and Leo; and his siblings-in-law, Caroline Hicknell, Maurice Hallahan and Clive O'Neill.
He is survived by: his sons, Chris (Paula) and Dave (Agnieszka Magolon); his grandchildren, Casey (Valerie), Maggie, Joshua and Gabriella; his sisters, Mary Hallahan and Agnes O'Neill; and his sister-in-law Marie Feeney. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
