He was predeceased by: his son Robert; his parents, Alexander McKie and Emily McKie; and his siblings, Hugh Hudlet, Arnold Hudlet and Donalda Hudlet.

He is survived by: his children, Julie McKie (Tim McArthur) of Burlington, Wendy Thompson (David) of Tea Gardens, NSW, Sharon Hecktus (Tim) of Kitchener, Keith McKie (Rhonda) of Grand Valley and Patricia Anderson (John) of Owen Sound; and his siblings, Emily Finney and John McKie. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
